Ana Cristina Olvera Peláez is a recognized communicator, host, speaker, and author. Since childhood, she has been involved in the world of communication and acting, participating in productions of the ECO News system and Televisa.
In addition, she has been a correspondent in the United Kingdom and has specialized in science and technology topics for over 10 years. As Director of Outreach and Inter-Institutional Relations at the Mexican Space Agency, she managed the first national agreements on space outreach. She has also been Director of Information for the Mexico al Día newscasts and created and directed the Information Agency for Education in Mexico at the Secretariat of Public Education, which concentrated the country’s educational information in one place for dissemination in different spaces.
Currently, she is the information subdirector at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she coordinates different projects for disseminating the institution’s scientific work. She is also the host of the Ibero-American Scientific and Cultural News (NCC) for the Association of Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Television Stations (ATEI). She has also collaborated with NASA for over 6 years in the development of Spanish-language content, such as the weekly news capsule of the International Space Station, Space to Earth.
She has received several recognitions and special distinctions, such as the State Award for Innovation, Science, and Technology of Jalisco in 2020 for the NCC and the Isitia Yolotl special mention in 2019 granted by the RED Mexico, an institution that encompasses the country’s public television stations.
Furthermore, she has participated as a commentator and specialist in more than 20 national and international media outlets, and given talks and lectures at specialized events such as the International Astronautical Congress in Washington and the Conference for Educators on Space Exploration in Houston.
Regarding her academic background, Ana Cristina Olvera Peláez has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Ibero-American University and a Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
