Ignacio Sandoval, known as “Nachin,” rose from poverty in Mexico to become a respected radio personality in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Guided by his mother’s hard work, he pursued education, earning a scholarship to study Theatre and Spanish Literature at the University of Riverside. Nachin’s career in radio began in the early 2000s, where he became a voice for the bilingual millennial generation, straddling both Latino and American identities. Despite a hiatus due to a clash of principles within his community, Nachin continues to engage his audience through social media, emphasizing the importance of education and critical thinking for young Latinos.
Nachin envisions a united and empowered Latino community, emphasizing truth and critical thinking to guide political and consumer decisions. He advocates for breaking stereotypes, aiming to showcase the true strength and potential of Latinos while challenging societal misconceptions. Through his advocacy, Nachin seeks to empower young Latinos, providing them with the tools they need to become future leaders and make informed, impactful choices for themselves and their community.
