Nitzia Chama is a Mexican actress, television host, and journalist with an established career across U.S. and international media. She is currently part of the Despierta América team, broadcasting from Miami, and serves as the host of the exclusive interviews for “Viva La Santa Biblia,” the first Spanish-language Bible audiobook narrated by Latino celebrities—a project she describes as deeply transformative in both her personal and professional life.

Her acting credits include roles in The Garcias (HBO Max), American Crime (ABC), and the award-winning short film She Returns, which earned her Best Actress honors at the Albuquerque Film Festival. Through her work on screen, Nitzia has become a strong advocate for authentic Latina representation, portraying complex, modern Latina women and contributing to a broader, more inclusive narrative in the entertainment industry.

With more than eight years at Univision Communications, Nitzia previously hosted Despierta Los Ángeles and worked as a national reporter for Despierta América. She is also the creator of Inspirarte Latinos, a digital platform and podcast dedicated to sharing inspiring stories from the Latino and immigrant community. Born and raised in Xalapa, Veracruz, and now based in Miami, Nitzia is embracing a new chapter as a mother while continuing to use her voice to inspire, empower, and uplift the Latino community.
