Nitzia Chama is 100 percent Mexican, born and raised in Xalapa, Veracruz. She worked for Univision Communications for 7 years, serving as a host for the segments of “Despierta Los Ángeles,” as well as a reporter on the West Coast for the national morning show “Despierta América,” where she also worked as a producer and reporter for the segment “Gente que nos inspira” (People who inspire us). Her stories are community-oriented and inspiring, and she has had the opportunity to meet and interview major stars from the Latin and Hollywood entertainment industry. Since 2020, she has been working on her own platform called “INSPIRARTE LATINOS,” a space to share inspiring stories, support and promote important causes that highlight the spirit of our Latin talent.

In June 2021, she joined the cast of the HBO MAX series “The Garcias,” where she is one of the main characters, a show that is bringing visibility to Latino actors and changing the narrative around stereotypes in the industry. In April 2023, she was named “Latina of the Year” by the City of Bell, California, where the community recognized her contributions as a leader in her field. She is a natural activist who loves sharing her journey with young people and has made it her mission to inspire others and tell stories that empower the Latino community.
